AbstractInthe image-dominated era ledbynew media，leveragingrapidlyadvancing digital technologiesand new media platforms to promote theactivationandutilizationofancient books，as wellas to transmit China'soutstanding traditional culture，has graduall becomeacrucial pathwayforancientbook preservation in thenew era.This paper centers on the Nanjing Library’s short video series，such as“BOOK&Treasures”and“A Flourishing Forestof Books”， and integrates relevant short video promotion practices from public libraries at various levels to systematically explore the“content lightweight”transformation strategy for ancientbook reading promotion in the short video era.
