Abstract:Astheworld'sleadingproducerofelectrolyticmanganese,thehistoricallaumulatedmanganeseslagexceeded1milliontons.Toelucidateteplutioncharacteristicsofeavymetalsinmanganeseslagandenvromentalimpacts,teprimarycoosiion andheavymetalcontentofslagsamplesfrommultipleregionsweresystematicallanalyzedTheresultsonfiredthatmanganseslagals underCategoryIIgeneralindustrialsolidwaste.Heavymetaloncentrationsinslagleachateandsurroundingsoilswereevauatedusing theSingleFactorPolutionIndexMethodandtheNemerowIntegratedPolutionIndexMetod.TheresultsdemonstratedthatCdandMn arethepredominantheavymetalpolutionfactorsinslagleachate,whileMnrepresentstheprimaryheaymetalpolutionfactorinsur roundingsoilseompreensieaagementsategieserecopodhichicuded:(establsingakyirroudteat edmonitoringnetwork;(2)implementingsitespecificcontrols(“onesiteonepolicy");and(3)advancingmanganeseslagresource utilization.This study provides a scientific foundation for the green transition of the industry.
