Abstract: In recent years,tobacco target spot disease has occurred in a wide range of areas and caused huge losses to tobacco leaves. This article outlines the distribution,damage,pathogen characteristics and occurrence regularity of tobacco target spot disease,summarizes the pathogenic mechanism of the pathogen causing tobacco target spot disease,the disease-resistant pathways triggered by tobacco's resistance to the pathogen infection,and the progress in the prevention and control of tobacco target spot disease. It also puts forward prospects for the process of tobacco disease-resistant breeding through molecular-assisted breeding technologies such as gene editing,aiming to provide valuable references and insights for controlling the spread and damage of this disease in tobacco-growing areas of China.
