【Abstract】Objective:To studythe analgesic and anti -inflammatory effects of Yantongxiao by using an acute inflammatory model inducedbycarrgeenanandthetail-flick test.Methods: 6O mice wererandomlydivided into blank group,positive group,anhydrous ethanol group, 80% ethanol group, 60% ethanol group and water extract group,10 mice each group.The micein each treatment group were applied the drug extermallyon theskin at the site of he shaved area andthe blank group was applied normal saline.The mice were given the treatment for3days,and 30 minutes after the last administration,the mice were injected intraperitoneally with acetic acid at 30% concentration to observe the tail-flick response.9O mice were randomly divided into blank group,model group,positive group,high - dose 60% ethanol group,medium- dose 60% ethanol group,low- dose 60% ethanol group,high - dose water extract group,medium-dose water extract group,and low-dose water extract group,1O mice each group.Except for the blank group and the model group,the rats of each group was applied 0.5g per rat of the ointment from the right ankleto the toe everyday,andthetreatment was continued for7days.One hour after the last administration,the inflammation was induced by intradermal injection ofcarrageenanon the foot sole,and theswelling of the mouse's foot and the pathological changes of the inflammatory foot muscle tissue were observedby HE staining.Results: Compared with the blank group,the positive group,the 80% and 60% ethanol extract groups,and the water extract group had significantly reduced the number of tail -flicks ( P<0.05 ). In the acute inflammation induced by carrageenan,compared with the model group,the water extract and 60% ethanol extract could significantly reduce the swelling of the mouse's foot ( P<0.05 )and improve the inflammatory condition of the foot muscle tissue to varying degrees. Conclusion:Yantongxiaohas goodanalgesicandanti-inflammatory effctsand hasagoodaleviating effectonacuteinflammatory carrageenan modelsand the tail-flick of rats.The studylays a foundation for furtherin-depth research.
