Abstract: With the further improvement of the requirements for the surface quality, microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminum alloy cast-rolled strips,coupled with the development needs of lowcarbonaluminum, the application of water-based graphite lubricants in the roll release technology of aluminum cast-rolling mills has become increasingly significant. The principle of roll release using waterbased graphite lubrication was briefly outlined,and the effects of water-based graphite lubricants on the temperature of casting rollsurfaces,the surface quality of aluminum sheets and strips, grain structure, and central segregation were investigated through experimental studies. The results indicate that water-based graphite lubrication can accelerate heat disspation from the casting roll surface and cooling of the sheet and strip, thereby enhancing the speed of cast-roling. It promotes the formation of a cold zone in the aluminum sheet and strip, inhibits grain growth,and improves the mechanical properties of the product. Additionally, it reduces carbon emissions, exhibiting greater environmental friendliness.
