Abstract: Owing to its excellent elasticity, chemical stability, good biocompatibility and outstanding processability, polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is widely chosen as the substrate and packaging material for flexible pressure sensors. This paper systematically reviews the research progress of PDMS based flexible pressure sensors.Firstly, the flexible pressure sensors were classified and their respective Working principles were summarized. Subsequently, the improvement of sensor performance by conductive fillrs and microstructure design is discussed. Then, the research progress of such sensors in application fields including health monitoring,human-computer interaction and electronic skin is elaborated in detail. Finally, the current shortcomings are summarized,and the challenges and opportunities that this field will face in the future are discussed.
