Study on the Calculation of Composite Roughness in Ice-Covered Rivers

Abstract:Aquatitativemethodasproposdteteinetempositeoughssofudercfdresingthehdrauliciee betweenfrozenriversandopen-channelconditions incoldregions.Basedontheboundaryconditionsofafrozenriver,ananalyticalfoula forthecompositeougnssdrivedanditssouonproedureaspresetedTemethdasvalidatedagaist4lsetsoflaboatoyand fielddatandompaedwiththeclasicalforulasofSbanv,LarsenandPavlovskiResultssowthat:a)Theproposedaproachields the closest agreement with observations,with a mean relative error of 3.94% ;b)The error of the Larsen formula increases markedly when the width-to-depthratioissall;c)Whenfieldparametersrescarceandrapidestmatesarereqired,teSabanvfoulacanbepreferen tillyadoptedbeauseof isomparivlysalldeviatio.Thesearchsultsanprovideancallationmetdforhrauliccallation and engineering design of ice-covered rivers.
