Abstract: As a crucial component of urban public space,parks serve not onlyas recreational venues for citizens but also as platforms for theexercise of state powerand the dissemination of ide ology.After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the new government initiated the socialist transformation of Beijing's parks,reshaping theminto political,educational,and production spaces under different developmental situation. At the beginning of Beiping's liberation,parks were uniformlytaken over,becoming spaces for promoting revolutionary discourse and political mobilization through changing symbolic signsand conducting political activities. During the first Five- Year Plan period,guided by the theory of "combining culture with rest," parks activelyengagedin cultural activities,subtly imparting socialist educationto the public.With the advanceof the production movement,parks were further transformed into fish farming,fruit tree,and grain andvegetable production basesunder the practice of "greening combined with production".
