Abstract:Welding of dissimilar metals is a key technical challenge in modern chemical,energy and power equipment manufacturing,and the performance of the joint directly affects the safe operation and service life of the equipment.This study focuses on the connectionof disimilar materials,high-chromium martensitic heatresistant steel 12Cr12and ASTM A105 low-carbon forged steel,and systematically explores the weldability, microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of thedissimilar metal arc welding.E3O9L-16 austenitic stainless steel electrodes electrodes were selectedas filer metals,Welding joints with no macroscopic defects were fabricated using the filler metal. Comprehensive studies on the joints were conducted using chemical composition analysis,metalographic microstructure analysis,tensile,bending,impact,and hardnesstests.The results show that the tensile specimens of the joints all fractured onthe A1O5 base metal side,showing complete ductile fracture characteristics,and the weld strength was higher than that of the base metal,achieving equal strength matching.Research has confirmed that by choosing the appropriate austenitic stainless steel electrode and strictly controlling the welding process parameters,reliable welding of dissimilar steels 12Cr12 and A105 can be achieved,providing an important technological basis for the manufacturing and repair of key components such as power station valves and pipe transition sections.
