Purification Effect of Landscape Plants on Surface Sediment Pollution in River Water Environments

Abstract:InresponsetotheseveresurfacesedimentpolutioninatributaryoftheZaohRiverinXi'ancausedbydomesticandindustialwastewaterdiscarge,thisstudyinvestigatesthepurificationefectoflandscapeplantsonolutedsurfacesdimentsnriver waterenvironments.RiverwaterfromtheZaohRiverwascolectedtosimulatethewaterenvironmentinordertosetupeightexperimentalgroupswitheithersingleormixedspeciesoflandscapeplantsinvariousratios.Testudymonitoredandanalyzedtheremoval ratesoftotalpospos,totlrogicalynd,otalspeedldsdaetalstateti ofsedimentpolutionpurificatio.ExperimentalresultsshowedtatPhagmitesustralis(commoned)wasostfectiveiovingT andTN;Oenanthejavanica(waterdropwort)andPhragmitesachievedthehighestCODandTSSremovalrates;Typha(catail)asmost effective for heavy metal removal.Among the mixed planting groups,the combination of Typha ∵ Phragmites:Plantago ∵ Oenanthe in a 2:2:1:2 ratio exhibited the best overall purification performance,with removal rates exceeding 85% for all pollutant types.
