Application of Transient Electromagnetic Method in Water-Rich Area Detection of a Coal Mine in Xilin Gol, Inner Mongolia

Abstract:Toidentifythewater-richcharacteristicsoftherofof the3-3coalseaminacoalmineinXilingolLeague,Ier Mongolia,thisstudyemployedthegroundtransientelectromagneticmethod(TEM)toconducthigh-precisiondetectioninthestudy area.Basedontheinterpretationresultsoftheregionalelectrical structure,acomprehensiveanalysisofinversionprofilesand horzontalslicsledtotheidentificationofsixtypicallow-resistivityanomalyareas.Tesanomaliwerescientificalllasifid intothreecategories:water-richanomaliesinterofstrataofthecoalseam,wateraccumulationanomaliesingoalareas,and interferenceaomaliesfromartificialstructures.TheresearchfindingsindicatethattheI-D-4anomalyareaexhibitsmoderate water-richcharacteristicsandshouldberegardedasakeytargetforminewaterhazard prevention.Particularlynoteworthyisthe spatialdistributionoftheNo.IIanomalyareaintheexplorationzone,whichalignscloselywithon-siteroadwaywaterseepage phenomena.Thisfindingefectivelyvalidatesthereliabilityofthegeophysicaldetectionresults.Thisstudynotonlyprovideical geophysicalevidencefortheprecisepreventionandcontrolofminewaterhazardsbutalsoemonstratesthetechnicalapplicabilityof thetransientelectromagneticmethodundersimilargeologicalconditions trough extensivepracticalapplication.Itholdsexemplary significance for hydrogeological surveys in analogous mining areas.
