Neutralization Fault Analysis and Improvement Study of Driver's Brake Valve of HXD2 Locomotive

Abstract:The driver’s brake valve of HXp2 locomotive receives the input signal from the brake control unit (BCU),and then adjusts the brake pipe(BP) pressure signal to control the release and braking of the locomotive. It mainly consists of a pressure-reducing valve,release valve,neutral valve,relay valve,pressure sensor,quick release valve,and other components. The working principle is to control the pilot pressure RE by release solenoid valve VE(DG) and brake solenoid valve VE(SG),and then control the opening and closing of relay valve Q (P)CG to control the pressure of brake pipe. Through the changes in brake pipe pressure,operational instructions are ultimately issued to brake and release the locomotive. The purpose of thisfault analysis is to find the cause of theneutralization fault of the brake valvein time,formulate the solution and preventive measure,and avoid the recurrence of similar problems.In the process of fault analysis,on-site investigation,component structure and principle analysis, and simulation comparison were adopted,and the reason for this fault was found to be the deformation and detachment of the sealing ring of the brake neutral valve,and the structure of the existing neutral valve was changed to ensure that the sealing ring will be installed firmly and will not fall off.
