Effects of Exogenous Carbon Additions on Soil Organic Carbon Mineralization in Sanjiang Plain Wetland

Abstract: A simulation experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different concentrations of exogenous carbon addition on soil organic carbon (SOC) mineralization. The results showed that the cumulative SOC mineralization increased significantly with higher carbon addition concentrations, and the average mineralization rate peaked significantly at an addition concentration of 1.50%. The cumulative SOC mineralization was significantly positively correlated with microbial biomass carbon (MBC), and the exogenous carbon concentration explained 48.70% of the variation in mineralization. Exogenous carbon addition significantly promoted SOC mineralization in the wetlands of the Sanjiang Plain, with a threshold concentration of 1.50%.
