Abstract： The article mainly studies the differences， advantages and disadvantages between communication transmission devices PTN and OTN， as well as what scenarios they are suitable for. This article first introduces the basic concepts and architectures of PTN and OTN， then compares their differences in transmission efficiency， reliability， flexibility， and cost， and explores their different scenarios. Finally， this article also analyzes the trend of future communication transmission equipment development.
