From a young age， Hua Luogeng had a keen mind for problem-solving. By the time he was in junior high school， his mathematical talent had already begun to shine. Shortly after graduating from junior high，financial difficulties forced him to drop out of school. Afterwards，he helped his father manage a small grocery store. Despite being forced to leave school， his passion for mathematics never faded. To squeeze out time for study， Hua would get up before dawn every day， reading by the light of an oil lamp. Often，he became so absorbed that he forgot the time until customers came to knock on the door to buy things， then he hurried to open the door to greetthe guests.
