Music is an art that organizes various sounds according to certain rules and brings about pleasant auditory experiences， thus changing people's moods and cultivating their sentiments. There are two typesofmusical carriers：oneishumanvoices，suchas songs;theotherismusicalinstruments，whichhave been madefromeightdifferentmaterialssinceancienttimes： gold，stone，silk，bamboo，gourd，earth，leatherandwood. Nowadays， the commonlyusedmusical instrumentsare madefrom gold，leather，silkandbamboo.Thenotesused inmusic range from the lowest，vibrating 32 times per second，to thehighest，vibrating8，276timespersecond. Theyaredividedintodifferentlevels，suchasarange from 250to517vibrationspersecondasone level，and from 517to1，034vibrationspersecondasanotherlevel，which iscalledascale. Inascale，ancient Chinese peopleused fivenotestocreatemusic，andlaterincreasedittoseven notes and ninenotes， while Westerners currently use a scalethat includessevenwholenotesand five half notes-atotaloftwelvenotes.
