Abstract：Lily （Lilium spp.） is not only a popular commercial flower and landscaping plant，but also an important plant with both edible and medicinal properties. In recent years，extensive and in-depth research has been conducted on edible and medicinal lilies，achieving significant progress To better understand the germplasm resources of edible and medicinal lilies in China and their current development and application status，this paper summarizes the distribution of lily resources，identification of active components，and pharmacological efects，and generalizes the application of lilies in compound preparations and health products. It also summarizes research progress in the evaluation of lily germplasm resources with multiple uses and the creation of new varieties，and puts forward prospects for subsequent research on overcoming the continuous cropping obstacles of lilies，the correlation between taste and components，and synthesizing of active components，with the aim of providing theoretical reference for the innovation and utilization of multifunctional lily germplasm.
