AbstractRecent developments have seen widespread adoption of Andger(ADG) scafolding systems in construction. However, recurring structural failures at joint connections have raised significant concerns regarding their safety and stability. This study establishes a semi-rigid finite element model ofADG scaflding joints using ANSYS software, with experimental validation confirming the model’saccuracy.Through numerical simulations,we systematically investigate the influence of four key parameters on joint bending capacity: constitutive material properties of lock pins, pin insertion depth,U-clamp thickness, and pin thicknes.Key findings indicate that bending capacity exhibits a positive correlation withthe yield strength of the pin material.Increased U-clamp thickness enhances both joint bending resistanceand initial rotational stifness.Conversely, pin thickness and insertion depth demonstrate negligible efects on bending performance. These findings provide critical insights for optimizing the structural design of ADG scaffolding systems.
