Method for Customer Directrix Load Formulation Based on Distributionally Robust Optimization

Abstract: To addressthe deviation in customer directrix load (CDL) formulation caused by the uncertainties of wind and solar power output as well as load demand under high penetration of renewable energy, this paper proposes a distributionally robust CDL formulation model based on the Wasserstein ambiguity set. Based on historical datasets of wind and solar power outputs and load demand,the Wasserstein ambiguity set is constructed within the model to quantitatively characterize the associated uncertainties. On this basis,a distributionall robust optimization-based CDL formulation model is established,aiming to minimize the total system operation cost while incorporating demand response (DR) and unit operation constraints. For computational tractability,auxiliary variables and dual variables are introduced by leveraging strong duality theory to transform the proposed model into a linear programming (LP) form, which is then solved using the CPLEX solver. Comparative results with relevant methodologies across diverse scenarios demonstrate that the load baseline derived from the proposed model effctively balances economic eficiency and robustness during demand response implementation. Consequently,it provides an adaptive technical solution for CDL formulation under high-proportion renewable energy integration.
