Migration Patterns and Resource Utilization Pathways of Natural Radioactive Nuclides in Soil - Plant Systems

Abstract:Inordertorevealthemigrationpatternsofnaturalradioactive nuclides inthesoil-plantsystem,the typical agriculturalareasintheNorthChinaPlain wereselectedtostudytheeffctsofsoilpHvalue,organicmatercontentand plant species on the migration of 238 U, 232η Th and 40K by using multi factor control experiments.The results showed that soil pH value was the dominant factor controlling nuclide migration,with a contribution rate of 68.5% ;different plants exhibit selectiveenrichment characteristics for nuclides,with ryegrass having the strongest enrichment ability for 40K and alfalfa having the highest enrichment efficiency for 238 U.Based on the migration paterns,resource utilization pathways such as targetedplantremediation,potassiumrichbiomassfertlizerconversion,andnucliderecoveryhavebeenproposedtoprovide scientific basis for ecological restoration of radioactive contaminated sites.
