Study on the Characteristics and Control of Atmospheric VOCs Pollution in a Southern Chinese City

Abstract:With air pollution control shifting from fine particulate matter PM2.5 )mitigation to the coordinated control of PM2.5 and ozone ( O3) ,Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs),as key precursors of ozone,have become one of the critical factorsinimprovingambientairquality.Basedonthe2O24 monitoringdataofatmosphericVOCs inasouthern Chinese city,this studysystematicallinvestigatestheconcentrationlevels,temporalvariations,ozoneformationpotential,and sourcecontributionsofVOCsbyintegratingcomponentconcentrationanalysis,hotochemicalreactivityassssment,ndthe PositiveMatrixFactorization (PMF)receptor model.Targetedcontrolmeasuresare proposedtoprovideascientific basis for ozone pollution prevention and control in this region and other similar cities nationwide.
